Jonathan Cuénoud

Jonathan Cuénoud is Deputy Head of the Section of International Humanitarian Law and International Criminal Justice within the Directorate of International Law (DIL) of the Federal Department for Foreign Affairs (FDFA).

He has been Senior Legal Advisor on International Humanitarian Law at the Permanent Mission of Switzerland to the United Nations Office and to the other international organizations in Geneva. Before joining the FDFA, he has worked as a legal officer at the International Committee of the Red Cross (ICRC) and the Liaison Office for Switzerland and Liechtenstein of the United Nations Commissioner for Refugees (UNHCR).

He holds a Master's degree in international and European law from the University of Neuchâtel (Switzerland) and an LL.M. in international humanitarian law from the Geneva Academy of International Humanitarian Law and Human Rights.

There are fifteen members of the International Humanitarian Fact-Finding Commission.
