Meeting with Polish Ministry of Foreign Affairs

The delegation of the IHFFC, composed of the members of its Bureau, visited the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Poland on 10 November 2022.

The delegation was received by: Mr Marcin Przydacz - Undersecretary of State for Security, the Americas, Asia and Eastern Policy, Mr Konrad Marciniak - Director of the Legal and Treaty Department and Mr Sławomir Majszyk - Deputy Director of the Legal and Treaty Department.

During the meeting, the IHFFC delegation advised the Polish government about its recent activities and plans for the near future. The talks focused on the means and methods of improving compliance with IHL during today’s armed conflicts by using, among others, the IHFFC’s potential both in the field of fact-finding and good offices.

Taking into consideration that the Republic of Poland supports the activities of the Commission on international fora as, among others, the Chair of the IHFFC Group of Friends at the UN in New York and the OSCE Chair in Office, the means of further promotion of the IHFFC were discussed during the meeting.

There are fifteen members of the International Humanitarian Fact-Finding Commission.
